Meet Bert Doerhoff, CPA
After graduating from the University of Central Missouri, where I studied business, accounting and finance, I began my career in 1976 as a senior accountant at Peat Marwick (now KPMG). Two years later, I founded my own CPA firm, which I continue to operate today.
I formed Aura Wealth in 2000 as a natural adjunct to my accounting practice. We help our clients build and protect their wealth by providing a single resource for their accounting and financial needs. My accounting background allows me to advise clients on the tax ramifications of their investment decisions — insight that can produce significant financial benefits.
I’m a firm believer in the value of evidence-based investing. My investment recommendations are based on sound academic principles. Please visit Your Money to learn more about my investment philosophy and how it can benefit you.
My approach with our clients is simple:
Listen. Understand their goals. Help achieve those goals.
My wife, Jane, and I live in the small town of Saint Elizabeth (population 341). It’s the kind of place where everyone helps out, because the town doesn’t have a lot of resources.
We love nature. Our family is a big part of our lives. We live on a farm, complete with livestock.
From an early age I learned the value of work, morals and ethics. Regardless of the occupation, we are all in the business of helping others. Once I realized that I understood you can’t buy trust. Your actions will always speak louder than your words.
